DESTINY and SALVATION
How do we know whether or not we’ve been chosen?
Brothers, as salamu alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh!
Blessed are You, LORD, our God, King of the universe! And I am devoting this article to You!
Brothers, let me quote my conversation with my brother Gamal and I will try to reply to his question below:
You make sure that no one on the earth choose a religion either Muslims, Christians ..etc. But there are some factors based on the teachings will guide any one to know his or her way. These like the light in the darkness… it needs some efforts ..If you do such efforts sincerely you will reach to the truth…I remind you sincerely …sincerely…At this moment almighty ALLAH will choose you to the right religion. I remind you and all non Muslims …you are on incorrect path by birth ..so, before Islam …every effort were based on correct teaches of your religion but after Islam ..nothing else than Islam will be accepted.
So try to do, do sincere efforts to know the truth, at the known time almighty ALLAH WILL CHOOSE YOU.
MY REPLY: Brothers, you know that there are also such verses in Bible. One of them is below:
We know that Salvation in Christianity is through FAITH in Jesus Christ.
(Jesus said) “Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never send away” (John 6:37).
What does it mean? Will God choose a few people to believe in Him and all other people will be in hell according to Bile? Does Bible say that ALL Muslims will be in HELL? –YES.
Let me explain you that.
You Arabs and Muslims can see Christians everywhere (in the West, in the USA and even in Muslim countries) – zealous Christians, genuine in their desire to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, out in the streets asking people if they are ‘saved’. Or, they collar unsuspecting friends and strangers, putting them on the spot. But, do these good folk really know what ‘being saved’ is? Do you? Let’s summarise what the Bible means by ‘being saved’.
‘Saved’ is a word used a lot, but is rarely explained properly. To most Christians ‘being saved’ means becoming a Christian. This is correct, of course. But this is a rather vague way to look at a scriptural truth that contains much more.
Let’s Go Way Back!
Many think that being saved is a one-off event, but it is far more involved than that! Our existence doesn’t really start when we are born.
If we know anything about God’s actions,
we will know that God knew us before the world was made!
How could He, when not even Adam existed? He knew because He is God – He knows every person who was, or who will ever be, born.
The Bible, Scripture, God’s word, tells us that He predestined people to be saved. That is, God chose a very small number of people who would be saved. These people could then enter Heaven or the Kingdom of Heaven. He chose them, therefore He also knew them beforehand.
First of all let me remind you what is salvation:
- We are saved if we are forgiven of all our sins through FAITH in Jesus Christ- Son of God- God.
- If we repented in our sins and asked God to forgive us. It means we should turn from sin to God and STOP sinning. It means if you committed adultery DON’T do it again!
- If we LIVE with God and follow His way in daily tasks and our life. It means righteous life.
Why do we need SALVATION? And salvation FROM WHAT?
We all are sinners. And God said that punishment for sin is DEATH. Spiritual or any death means eternal SEPARATION from God because of our sins. Holy God cannot LIVE with sinners. Or He should be sinner and unholy or we should be holy to be in His presence!
How to be saved from this hell and eternal separation from God?
God provided the means by which we could do so – Jesus –Son of God came to the earth to live with us. God LIVED with us in human body to show us WHO IS this GOD we should COME to or return….and why we are SEPARATED from GOD. God sent His only Son, Who is God Himself, to take on human form. He lived and died as a man, even though He was completely sinless. Because He did all this and gave up His life so that we could be reconciled to God, men and women could be saved…from the results of their own sin (eternal damnation in hell). Jesus or Issa Al Massih was holy God and He lived holy life. He was killed on the on the cross and accepted all sins of the world into His BODY. Jesus took the blame for our sin, and was punished on our behalf. Then, God raised Him from the tomb and He rose up in to heaven. Jesus lived with us on the earth and taught us openly on the mountains and everywhere in Palestine and Israel. His teaching was:
- About Love to God and all people
- He resurrected dead people
- He healed them and set them free from evil spirits and incurable illnesses.
- About PEACE
Jesus was teaching many people how to come back to God because He was the only Way to God.
“I am (Jesus) the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6
But NOT all of them BELIEVED in Him and were saved!!! Why then if God predestined our salvation He was teaching so many crowds of people and spent His time in teaching of His disciple Juda, knowing that he will betray Him?
BECAUSE God brought SALVATION to every one. He is talking to our hearts even if we are born in Muslim countries isolated from Christian community. It is impossible to BE ISOLATED from God. Because He was even mentioned in Qur’an that He is Ruh Allah and the Word of God, giving us opportunity TO ANALIZE that God is not deception and He is RUH ALLAH. If Jesus is holy in Qur’an and Ruh Allah it means He is ALLAH! There is Muslim tribe in Africa which is worshiping Jesus as God because they SAW in Qur’an that He is God. When Christian missionaries came to them with Bibles they could only confirm their beliefs by giving to read Gospel of Jesus. But this Muslim tribe was ALREADY a Christian tribe! The Christian-Muslims!!! The Christian Muslim-back-ground believers who FOUND God JESUS in Qur’an!
God gives us OPPORTUNITY to BE Saved! He made His PART of job in the negotiations of reconciliation (doesn’t it look like the same negotiation peace process like in the Middle East? 🙂 ).
His steps toward us or His input to the peace process:
- He suffered.
- He brought teaching of God.
- He was evidence of Love of God.
- He was God coming toward the sinful people.
- He didn’t say any word to people who beat Him, torn His body to parts….insulted Him and spited into His face. Can you imagine they spited into FACE of God but He was dying to FORGIVE them! He didn’t reply in aggression but His sufferings resulted in His FORGIVENESS!
Our steps toward God to receive salvation:
Nothing? YES. How then how we could be forgiven and live with God?
The problem is WHO is this God we want to LIVE with? Jihad? God of war? Or Indian cow?
No steps it means NO SALVATION!
God knows us. He knew us even before the creation of the world that we will be born and will HAVE to CHOOSE to live or to DIE. He knew that we will decide to LOOK for Creator or to create other gods and idols like money, job, 5 wives, wealth and islands….or sex…That’s ll has ONE common meaning- SIN!
God brings His plan in to action – PLAN to SAVE us! …and we ALL can be saved at the exact time and date, in the exact place, as determined by God in eternity according to OUR DECISION to LIVE WITH GOD or DIE in hell. How can God force us to LIVE if we decide to commit suicide or even worse to KILL other people, committing SUICIDE…shahyds….taking to hell as many people as possible…going DIRECTLY to the god of HELL. Because the ONE TRUE God desires SALVATION for EVERY ONE person including these victims exploded to pieces…
God created us in perfect form…like universe we are difficult to understand…and ONE suicide throws us- like vessels- to the ground…crashed in pieces…perfect creature became a piece of blood and flesh…
Who is this God who desires that? Who is this GOD who desn’t want SALVATION for every one? There are millions such gods…Only in India there are 33 Millions such gods…
But ONE…ONLY ONE God has another plan for salvation…for PEACE in the Middle EAST- He is God Jesus- ISSA ALLAH!
So let’s begin at the starting point, and that would be the character of God, and how He feels toward the lost:
6 The Lord passed by before him and proclaimed: “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, and abounding in loyal love and faithfulness, 7 keeping loyal love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. But he by no means leaves the guilty unpunished, responding to the transgression of fathers by dealing with children and children’s children, to the third and fourth generation” (Exodus 34:6-7).
31 Throw away all your sins you have committed and fashion yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why should you die, O house of Israel? 32 For I take no delight in the death of anyone, declares the sovereign Lord. Repent and live! (Ezekiel 18:31-32)
8 “Or what woman, if she has ten silver coins and loses one of them, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search thoroughly until she finds it? 9 Then when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’ 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:8-10).
“For the Son of Man (Jesus) came to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10).
1 First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercessions, and thanks be offered on behalf of all people, 2 even for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 Such prayer for all is good and welcomed before God our Savior, 4 since he wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:1-4).
9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you, because he does not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
The Scriptures are clear that our God is a God who is merciful, and thus delights to forgive sins, but whose righteousness also necessitates the condemnation of the guilty.
9 What then? Are we better off? Certainly not, for we have already charged that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin, 10 just as it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one, 11 there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God. 12 All have turned away, together they have become worthless; there is no one who shows kindness, not even one.” 13 “Their throats are open graves, they deceive with their tongues, the poison of asps is under their lips.” 14 “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.” 15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood, 16 ruin and misery are in their paths, 17 and the way of peace they have not known.” 18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes” (Romans 3:9-18)
1 And although you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you formerly lived according to this world’s present path, according to the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the ruler of the spirit that is now energizing the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom all of us also formerly lived out our lives in the cravings of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath even as the rest… 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us, 5 even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you are saved! – 6 and he raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 to demonstrate in the coming ages the surpassing wealth of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 it is not from works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:1-9).
5 And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. 6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 (For rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person perhaps someone might possibly dare to die.) 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, because we have now been declared righteous by his blood, we will be saved through him from God’s wrath. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, since we have been reconciled, will we be saved by his life? (Romans 5:5-10)
3 For we too were once foolish, disobedient, misled, enslaved to various passions and desires, spending our lives in evil and envy, hateful and hating one another. 4 But “when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared, 5 he saved us not by works of righteousness that we have done but on the basis of his mercy, through the washing of the new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us in full measure through Jesus Christ our Savior. 7 And so, since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life” (Titus 3:3-7).
The only one who can save sinners – God – chooses those whom He will make alive, giving them salvation. YOU ALL are CHOSEN to LIVE in PEACE in the Middle East? Will you live in peace? You don’t want? Ok. But God KNEW it. ALL who will accept His invitation to BE saved will be saved and YOU will be called CHOSEN! Because God is not subject of time and He is beyond the TIME. He knew YOU all. He Knew YOU all who will accept HIM as God and who will be saved! YOU are called by Him as chosen and appointed people for salvation. YOU will make a decision NOW and this decision will have a RESULT in ETERNITY! If your decision is: yes God Jesus save me. Then YOU are saved and chosen. If -NO. Then you are separated from God and will be in ETERNAL separation!
“Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never send away” (John 6:37).– if you will come to Jesus He says He will never forsake and leave you! You will be considered as given by God Father to Jesus to save YOU.
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:44).– God is drawing you all by His LOVE. But you reject this love…if You will decide to accept LOVE and Salvation then you will be RAISED up from death!
So Jesus added, “Because of this I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has allowed him to come” (John 6:65). – God allowed us all to come to Jesus. Raise up Arabs God came to us. God allowed us to KNOW Jesus and His LOVE. Accept this LOVE of GOD and LIVE with God! God gave us countless numbers of opportunities to find Him through Intenet, friends, TV, and even my messages…even Bible in Arabic and other languages could be EASILY found in intenet in ANY country with ANY restricted acces…EVEN Christians are worshiping God in Mecca and Medina and in Saudi Arabia!
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you” (John 15:16).– God chose us to bring us message of SALVATION…He came down from Heaven to the earth…not we went to Heaven to save our God… Be appointed by Him to be His adopted son through faith in Jesus Christ- Son of God.
When the Gentiles heard this, they began to rejoice and praise the word of the Lord, and all who had been appointed for eternal life believed (Acts 13:48).– Don’t reject the Good News about SALVATION for you but BE APOINTED to the Eternal life with God!
A woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, a God-fearing woman, listened to us. The Lord opened her heart to respond to what Paul was saying (Acts 16:14).- Open Your hearts to respond to God and do not HARDEN it!
6 It is not as though the word of God had failed. For not all those who are descended from Israel are truly Israel, 7 nor are all the children Abraham’s true descendants; rather “through Isaac will your descendants be counted.” 8 This means it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God; rather, the children of promise are counted as descendants. 9 For this is what the promise declared: “About a year from now I will return and Sarah will have a son.” 10 Not only that, but when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our ancestor Isaac – 11 even before they were born or had done anything good or bad (so that God’s purpose in election would stand, not by works but by his calling) – 12 it was said to her, “The older will serve the younger,” 13 just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” 14 What shall we say then? Is there injustice with God? Absolutely not! 15 For he says to Moses: “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 So then, it does not depend on human desire or exertion, but on God who shows mercy. 17 For the scripture says to Pharaoh: “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may demonstrate my power in you, and that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.” 18 So then, God has mercy on whom he chooses to have mercy, and he hardens whom he chooses to harden. 19 You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who has ever resisted his will?” 20 But who indeed are you – a mere human being – to talk back to God? Does what is molded say to the molder, “Why have you made me like this?” 21 Has the potter no right to make from the same lump of clay one vessel for special use and another for ordinary use? 22 But what if God, willing to demonstrate his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects of wrath prepared for destruction? 23 And what if he is willing to make known the wealth of his glory on the objects of mercy that he has prepared beforehand for glory – 24 even us, whom he has called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles? (Romans 9:6-24)
4 For he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world that we may be holy and unblemished in his sight in love. 5 He did this by predestining us to adoption as his sons through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure of his will – 6 to the praise of the glory of his grace that he has freely bestowed on us in his dearly loved Son (Ephesians 1:4-6).- God knew you all before the foundation of the world if you will accept Him or reject Him. But HIS FAITHFULNESS to you MAKES Him to continue to speak to you and persuade you to stop dying though His offering the medicament from poison of SIN. Accept and LIVE Brother! My voice is calling to YOU and crying …ACCEPT and LIVE…Accept infinite Love of God and life ETERNALY!
30 Then he brought them outside and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:30-31).
11 For the scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him( Jesus) will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all, who richly blesses all who call on him. 13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:11-13).
So, we know that God chooses some of us (in spite of their rebellious nature – enemies, dead in sin) to salvation, while others persist in their rebellion, destined for eternal judgment. Your question is, “How do I know that I am one of the elect?” I believe the answer is clear in Scripture:
26 “But you refuse to believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; no one will snatch them from my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them from my Father’s hand” (John 10:6-29). – listen to word of Jesus and follow Him and you will NEVER PERISH.
Those who are not chosen don’t believe in Jesus and don’t follow Him they don’t want to follow Him and be chosen and saved!
Those who do believe in Jesus know His voice and they follow Him. If you were not chosen you would not delight in God’s Word, and you would not be concerned about your salvation…because yours and their gods assure them that they are born sinless in correct religion…and sex with other women without marriage is not sin…because SIN is their god… SIN is their RELIGION, calling them to kill neighbors and to endless fight in their HEARTS and countries…because etheir scriptures are saying only about Jihad and war…but God of LOVE is NOT God of WAR, giving commands TO BEHEAD people in JIHAD.
Those who call upon Jesus for salvation – all of them – He receives, and does not turn away, and gives them salvation. And that salvation is eternal and secure: “No one can snatch them from my Father’s hand” (John 10:29; see also 1 Peter 1:3-5).
The moment of being saved is the time of our ‘salvation’, or ‘new birth’. At that exact moment in our lives, we are transformed from being ‘dead in our sins’ to being ‘saved’. Instead of being ready for hell, we are saved from punishment and are assured entry in to heaven! HOW? Through our FAITH in Jesus and repentance! Suddenly, we become ‘new creature’.
From the moment of our salvation, God expects us to go forward as Christians, constantly living as God wishes us to live…it is called righteous life. This involves daily repentance for all those sins we commit in our lives, so that we can remain in His favour. Our life becomes process of refinement and purification like GOLD is melted and purified. Because the Kingdom of Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. We should be prepared to live in God’s presence!
Our lives, then, are simply journeys through the time zone, toward Heaven. On the way we must live holy lives (like Tayssir Abu Saada… I love to mention this great brother of mine), repenting of our sins as we travel. It is whilst we are on this journey, that we are constantly ‘being purified’…from our own failures and sins, and toward God and His grace (or blessings).
Then, after God decides to finish with this present world, He will completely destroy it, after He has taken everyone who will believe in Him out of it. Those who didn’t want to be saved will enter hell- the place of eternal separation from God. But, those who are saved before He destroys the earth, will enter Heaven. Thus, we will all ‘be saved’ finally and completely. No more sin and no more need to repent! This is because, in Heaven, everyone will be perfect, and without sin. There is no other way we can enter, or stay, in the abode where God is. (God cannot tolerate sin in His presence). Do you remmeber I told you many times that sin is just UNACCEPTABLE to Him!
We can see then, that ‘saved’ contains several aspects in its meaning:
First, we are chosen or predestined (elected) to be saved from the results of our sins, even before the world was made. BUT this is OUR decision, NOT out of our control; a strategy plan offered US by God….but WE need to make steps to reconciliation before OUR HOUSE (body) will be EXPLODED by bomb….
Then, sometime in our own lifetime, God causes us to be saved, Or, transferred from being spiritually dead to being spiritually alive. This is the enactment of the Plan.
After that, He causes us to continue in a state that is congruent with our status as ‘new creatures’. Thus, the health of the plan is ensured.
Finally, on God’s specified day, the world will be finished and we – Arabs and ex-Muslims -will enter in to Heaven. When that happens, the phenomenon we call ‘time’ will no longer exist, for we will be in eternity with God, completely and utterly saved.
That, then, in a nutshell, is ‘being saved’. We hope that though very brief, this article will make the matter clearer for all concerned.
Now pray this prayer and be saved by God and LIVE with Him and NOT Against Him:
Jesus, Lord, forgive me. I am sinner. You are Holy and you want me to stay in Your presence eternally. Allow me to be with You always here on the earth and in Your Kingdom. Forgive me all my sins through the Faith in Jesus Son of God. Thank You that You died on the cross to forgive me and accepted all my sins to Your holy body. Thank You for Your love and forgiveness. Thank You for Future with You. Thank You that You adopted me and called me Your son. Thank You and help me to follow You and live with You from that moment forward. Amen.
FORGIVENESS (for my madness and countless number of sins I committed) is a result and evidence of GREAT and PERFECT LOVE of God to me and you- my Arab nation! Praise the Lord for WHO YOU ARE -God of LOVE Jesus! Amen.
Ya Subhan Issa Allah!
